Not much!

But at least I did something, right?! I've been really busy with dr apts, helping friends out, and just about everything else you can think of to keep me from blogging. Also, I have no laptop. Mine is crap and the hubs is always using his.

Anyways! I've made a skirt! Was just playing around with an idea in my head. Jumped ahead a few steps then realized I should have serged a few things first before joining and finishing. But, it's a test model. This might be a skirt I'll put in my catalogue. It did take longer than I wanted, but maybe because I was still working out what I had in my mind. Hopefully the second go will be much better! Need to make this in another fabric with contrasting or like colors. Maybe a different colored ruffle, flowers. We'll see!

I also made some new couch pillows. I found this awesome Japanese fabric in a hole in the wall type fabric store on "Blue Street". (There is a blue line down the street. I really don't remember what the Japanese name for the street is.) I really love this fabric. So much in fact, I want to make a dress out of it. If only it wasn't so darn expensive!

Much ado about nothing

I've always wanted to say that. With meaning. Sad part is, I don't really know what it means!

Japan is lovely this time of year. It really is. The downside to winter is the cold. The Japanese style house I live in literally has paper walls and widows. Everything is paper. Sure there is wood foundation; but absolutely no insulation! I'm freezing!

So, because of this wonderful, beautiful, winter cold... I have been doing more cuddling under blankets than crafting of any sort. I guess I could wear some gloves and knit or crochet, but it's just not comfortable.

Still brainstorming ideas for that catalogue. If mail didn't take so long to get here, I would be using that craft tag lunch I ordered weeks ago!

Anyways, as for updates that's about all I've got for now. I'm trying to keep up but I just find used with nothing to write about :/

Christmas is getting near and little shoemakers have bee making appearances in my sewing room lately!

Long time no see!!!

Well, it has been a while. Long while actually. I guess I just fell out of blogging for a bit. Inspiration flew out the window.

To catch up: I am now living in Japan, and teaching private sewing lessons. I am also doing alterations and making custom orders for locals. Speaking of custom orders, Ive been making so many baby booties lately. Winter is fast approaching and I just can't stop thinking about cold little feet! My husband did accidentally lose one. He took it to work to have a coworker try it on her babys foot. Last I saw he had one shoe and his foot was cold!

Anyways, for updates that about all I got! Still sewing and still loving it

Ive got so many updates... AND NO CAMERA. My husband deployed and took the only camera we had, which happened to be the camera I bought for him for his birthday. I hope he puts it to good use.

Anyways, I should try to find a spare camera around here, Im sure that I have one! I want to show some pictures of a few things I've made, and also a few things that are in the process of being finished... but cannot show yet. They're gifts.

A wallet. Ive been thinking of making some more, possibly trying to sell them on Etsy. Not sure yet, the Etsy thing isn't really working out.



A baby quilt I made for a friend. She's going to have a baby girl!

Yikes!!

I haven't written in a while! Getting lazy! So many things to do, trying to do them all at once, that's my excuse! I'm trying my hand at quilt making, started working on this quilt I started years ago and then gave up. I just didn't have the energy to do it, and everytime I picked it up I felt drained! I do want to finish it though, it's made up of violets old burp cloths!! Aaaaaanyways! It's super early in the morning right now, I'm bored and tired, but not sleepy!!!!

I should post some pictures of the work I e sone for violets bathroom.. Maybe after I fix the smudges violet did! Yikes!!

Oh JOY

Lots of good things going on in my life!

Too many to list, seriously.

A few things though. NEW IPHONE! Tax returns finally came, and my husband was more exited about getting me an iPhone that Ive ever seen him excited about anything. I mean there was lots of clapping, giggling, and jumping around on his part =p

Another new and exciting thing. My little sister is coming to visit this month! Hooray! She's seriously my fav sis, she's the baby. She is bringing her bf with her, so maybe I can show them a good time. I really hope that it doesn't rain when they get here, the weather's been sort of nasty here. Yikes!

I've got about 10 things in my Etsy shop now. Been doing lots of crafting lately. Sad to say though, nobody has bought anything yet! I'm not losing hope, maybe I should just add more things... or maybe advertise more. I did enable google analytics, where it shows you (in graph or chart form) website hits for the day. Well, I got so many hits to my website the day that I advertised on my facebook... and it's been slowly going down everyday.. and today, no hits at all! Yikes! It's OK, I'm not upset. Maybe I should just be more determined, right?

I'd post pictures of my products, but seriously.... Ive been in bed sick all day, I'm finally up. I don't have the patience for it!

Busy busy bees.

I've been so busy crafting lately! I feel like I've had no time at all to blog! Gifts for Poppycakes, giraffes for my friends, crafty little things for Etsy in between... nonstop!

A few things I've made lately!

Birdie Zipper pouch! I received my order of zippers and I can't seem to stop wanting to make pouches... they are so easy and fun to make it's crazy! I'm trying not to make too many though, I don't want to have too many!

I've decided to make a purse with some left over fabric I had... might as well, right? I made the pattern up all by myself, and thank goodness that I made a copy of the pattern.. I really like it! I just might make more, and maybe even one for myself. I really like how it turned out! It was super easy to make too!

MACAULAY! I just had the urge to bleach my shirt with a stencil I made... totaly should have bought the plastic cards for stencil making, but I decided to use printer paper...with the time that it took to cut it out, it would have been a lot better! Bleaching the stencil totally ruined it, because I used printer paper... it got all soggy and fell apart, thats why there are some huge bleach spots on the shirt... I tried to fix it though, with a little hand embroidery... I like how it turned out, so it's ok! At least the trial run went well, and I know what to do for next time!

WOW, what a day

I did get a lot of sewing done! I'm happy with what I'm making for my Etsy shop... my only problem is that I cannot take a good picture for the life of me. I need to learn how to work a camera I think. I did get an idea on how to take some detailed pictures of your product from that book Will got me.. selling things on etsy and stuff... well it helped, but not much. I still cannot work a camera. I really do hope that I figure it out soon, I'm itching to put up some pictures!

I'm already planning my next trip to the bay area! I can't wait to see everyone that I miss so much =p Got lots of goodies to bring!
